Sidhu was giving his views in a cricket show aired on an Indian sports channel. He was asked about what captaincy is and how a captain should be like.
For Sidhu there are two types of captains one who says trust me and second who says trust yourself. For him the real one is the second. A real captain has this charisma to go deep into a player’s inside and lit the fire of confidence in him.
To me Imran Khan was a real captain. He had everything that a real captain needs to have. He was god gifted by all means. He told a story about Zahoor Elahi an ex Pakistani cricketer.
He told that in a tournament Zahoor was in poor batting form and was not scoring runs. Imran however was constantly going with him. Then it went to the last match the finals and Pakistan were batting first. In the last overs Imran asked Zahoor to hit out.
